The kitchen asked for clarity: plenty of light, little visual noise and materials that would age well. I resolved the run in matt white lacquer without handles, with a Gola profile, and concentrated the character in a worktop and splashback of softly veined white marble. The wood-effect porcelain floor supplies the only warmth the white does not.
The hob sits flush with the marble and the Siemens hood, in steel, is the only metal volume on show. At the end, the marble drops in a waterfall to the floor: a small move that closes the piece and avoids the weak edge of a worktop that dies in mid-air.
The storage tower absorbs the microwave and oven in black, so the worktop stays clear. A single brass handle marks the pantry; everything else opens on the profile. It is the right dose of detail so the kitchen does not read as a laboratory.
Behind one of the tall doors is a breakfast station: timber shelves, integrated light and sockets in plain view. Coffee machine, toaster and cables disappear when it closes. It is the trick that keeps the front clean without giving up having everything to hand at breakfast time.
A compact, clear kitchen that is easy to keep. The marble speaks; the lacquer and timber support it. And the hidden breakfast station stops daily life from spoiling the drawing.
