A kitchen designed for a new chapter
This kitchen was conceived to transform a family space and give it a new life. The home belonged for years to Clara’s parents and now adapts to a new chapter, in which she will live with her husband and their young children. The design keeps the warmth of the original home, while bringing in a more contemporary, practical and luminous aesthetic, meant to support the needs of a young family.
A warm, timeless palette
The cabinetry was designed in a clay or light cream tone, a choice that brings luminosity and a sense of space without feeling cold. This colour combines easily with the different materials in the kitchen and allows for a serene, welcoming atmosphere. The laminate finish also offers a particularly practical everyday solution: a durable surface that is easy to maintain — essential in a family kitchen with young children.
The starring role of Calacatta Viola
The worktop and splashback were made in Calacatta Viola porcelain, becoming one of the project’s main decorative elements. Its light ground, paired with pronounced veins in brown and violet tones, brings personality and contrast to the whole. The same material continues across different areas of the kitchen, creating visual continuity and reinforcing the sense of a space designed as one. The result is elegant, without losing the warmth a family home needs.
A space designed for sharing
The layout makes use of the room’s perimeter to achieve a comfortable, functional kitchen, keeping a generous work surface and enough storage. The bar by the windows includes two stools and becomes a small place for breakfast, a drink, or keeping company with whoever is cooking. Natural light enhances the pale tones and makes the whole especially pleasant during the day.
Functionality for everyday life
The ultimate aim was to create a kitchen that not only looks good in photographs, but truly works as part of Clara and her family’s daily life. Durable materials, laminate cabinetry, easy cleaning and a practical layout mean the space can be used comfortably for many years. A contemporary, warm proposal that updates the home without losing its family essence, turning the kitchen into one of the main gathering points of the house.
